The Pregnancy Cake Club (on hold)

Immediately after launching this new informal event, the feedback has been out of this world and even led to Abby being interviewed live over on BBC Radio Sheffield in July 2020.

The Aim

The aim of these sessions is so that you can socialise with other pregnant people thereby hopefully forming a support network to see you through the rest of your pregnancy and beyond. You are welcome along to more than one session and there will be different topics as well as different guest speakers as we go along.

This months topic is Birth Preferences, often referred to as a Birth Plan - we'll chat about how you feel about them and what you could consider. Whether you love the idea or think they're a waste of time, this chat is about exploring your choices.

What to expect

These sessions are not formal but if you would like to know what to expect, we'll be introducing ourselves and having a chat with one another. We will look at the set topic and at some point move into breakout rooms to talk about this. There is no pressure and it's not intended to put you on the spot but as this is meant for people to chat and get to know each other, it will work best for all involved if you're happy to chip in with some conversation.

After the session, a form will be sent and you can request to be part of a WhatsApp group that is specific to those who have attended this specific session so that you can keep in touch if you want to; there's no pressure though so if that's not your cup of tea, you don't have to.

You will receive a little goody box in the post because who doesn't like freebies? These will change slightly from session to session but examples of the contents include: handmade crochet umbilical cord ties by me; soft, reusable cloth breastpads; doTERRA essential oil samples; a discount for a family photographer and other things. Please be patient with the goody boxes - they will be sent via Royal Mail Signed For, first class but do bear in mind the time of year we're in as there may be delays, especially if you book on at the last minute. You will receive your box but it may not be in time for the event itself, however you don't need anything in the box to attend the session.

What about the cake!?

Usually, this would involve tons of cake all laid out for you to eat - sadly, as this is no longer being held in person for the foreseeable, you'll have to get your own cakes to nibble on (they don't post well!) and drinks to slurp but on the plus side, you can stay in your pyjamas if you like!

Frequency: Monthly

Duration: Around 2 hours

Attend once or many times, it's up to you!

Booking here when available - if no link, there is no current club running.
